February 2015 - July 2017 | London, East Midlands etc.As Area Manager for London and East Midlands I was responsible for volunteer recruitment in the largest region of Beanstalk's work, comprising all London boroughs In particular, I was: • Responsible for significantly expanding the work of Beanstalk in the contracted area to meet organisational objectives in line with their 5 year growth plan. • Developing a strategy for raising Beanstalk’s profile in the London Area and working with the fundraising team and operations director in developing a strategy for income generation in the Area. • Responsible for motivating staff and volunteers to achieve regional and national performance objectives. • Ensuring that Beanstalk’s safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures are promoted and effectively implemented throughout our work in the Area. • Developed annual business plans and worked to budget for the London East Area and take responsibility for ensuring that the operational targets are achieved within the agreed financial budget. • Ensured adherence to Beanstalk policies, particularly in regard to M&E and H&S. • Developed a plan to recruit more schools through effective marketing and sales strategies and improve retention of existing schools and volunteers in the Area. I was responsible for the Area Administrators (x3), and Recruitment and Training Executives (x6) and support a team of 31 staff within London alone.

Programme Director Jack Petchey's "Speak Out" Challenge at Speakers Trust
January 2013 - November 2014 | Southwark, LondonSpeaker Trust's vision is a society where everybody has the skills, confidence and desire to speak in public. Its mission is to promote the lifetime benefits of effective public speaking and communication skills through campaigning, training and community involvement. As Programme Director I am responsible for managing day-to-day operations and setting the strategic vision for: - Jack Petchey's "Speak Out" Challenge! An annual public speaking training programme that provides training opportunities to over 20,000 year 10 pupils attending one of the 550 state schools in London and Essex. Working in partnership with the schools and in partnership with over 40 freelance Associate Trainers, Speakers Trust is funded to provide each school with public speaking training via one funded "Speak Out" Challenge! workshop for 25 pupils and, where there is demand, an extra part-funded workshop. Following the training, each of the 37 districts hold a Regional Final at which all participating schools are represented and of the 37 Regional Final winners 15 of the 37 are then selected to speak at the showcase Grand Final - where the annual "Speak Out" Challenge! winner is crowned. I am responsible for the financial propriety of the programme and have secured funding in excess of one million pounds over the last two years.
